3 large onions
1 whole peeled garlic
chop up and add to 1cup of hot water, add salt and pepper
cook down until water is gone and the onions are fried and translucent
add 8 cups water or vegetable stock, bring to boil
add 1lb split pea, bring to boil,
reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer
when peas start to dissolve (about an hour),
add one large potato peeled and diced
add 4 carrots, peeled and sliced
simmer for 2 hours or until fully stewed

Don't worry, I have you under tight security (you can't see them, they're pros). Plus I think this will really help shore up our culinary constituency ahead of the election.
